On 3 March 2019 Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met with Foreign Minister Riad Malki of the State of Palestine in İstanbul.

At the meeting, Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that Turkey will continue to use all its capabilities to support the State of Palestine.

In his speech at the meeting of the Ambassadors of Palestine in Europe, Minister Çavuşoğlu stressed that the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine within 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital is not a choice but an obligation.

On the same day, Minister Çavuşoğlu met also with Commissioner-General Pierre Krahenbühl of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

At the meeting, Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that Turkey’s strong support to UNRWA will continue.

Finally, Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that by raising 1 million US Dollars for UNRWA, Afghanistan has demonstrated one of the best examples of international fraternity.
