President of Kenya, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta is paying a state visit to Turkey at the invitation of President of Turkey, H.E. Abdullah Gül. This visit has particular importance in that it is the first presidential visit from Kenya to Turkey.
During the meetings at the Çankaya Presidential Palace, various aspects of the bilateral relations between Turkey and Kenya were discussed and views were exchanged on regional and international developments, particularly concerning the African continent.
Speaking at the joint press conference after the meetings, President Gül said that Turkey which currently has 35 embassies in Africa attributes great importance to its relations with the African countries. In this respect, President Gül emphasized that Turkey makes every effort to further develop both political and economic relations with Kenya.

On the other hand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmet Davutoğlu held a bilateral meeting with his Kenyan counterpart, Amina Mohammed who accompanies President of Kenya. Foreign Ministers reviewed bilateral relations and also shared their assessments on regional issues.
