Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu paid a visit to Islamabad on 8-9 December 2015 to attend the 5th Session of the Ministerial Conference of the Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process on Afghanistan, hosted by Pakistan.

In the margins of the 5th Session of the Ministerial Conference of the Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process, which was created at the “Istanbul Conference for Afghanistan” held on 2 November 2011 under the leadership of Turkey in collaboration with Afghanistan acting from the conviction that the problems encountered by Afghanistan necessitate regional solutions and therefore aiming to reinforce regional cooperation and solidarity, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu was received by President of Pakistan Mamnoun Hussein and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. In the meetings bilateral relations and regional developments were discussed.
