We are deeply saddened by the loss of life of a great number of civilians during the clashes that occurred yesterday (15 November) in Tripoli after the firing at the public participating in demonstrations which had started peacefully.

We strongly condemn these incidents, wish God’s mercy upon those who lost their lives, convey our condolences to their bereaved families and hope for a speedy recovery of the wounded.

We hope that those responsible for these incidents will be arrested and brought to justice and that the people of Libya will find solutions to the problems in their country through the democratic values for which they made great sacrifices and through dialogue.

We believe that the establishment of effective national defense and security institutions in Libya and the integration of the forces that have fought for the revolution into these institutions or their return to civilian life are essential for normalization in Libya.

Turkey, which has given since the outset every kind of support to Libya for its reconstruction and for the establishment of the security in the country on a solid basis, will continue to stand by the brotherly people of Libya in the future.
