We congratulate H.E. Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Djibouti, on his election as the Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission today (15 February) at the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the AU, as well as the new members of the AU Commission.

Türkiye, as a strategic partner of the AU, will continue its close cooperation with the AU and contribute to the realization of Africa’s Agenda 2063 in the coming period.

Taking this opportunity, we would also like to thank Moussa Faki Mahamat for his valuable efforts to strengthen Türkiye-AU partnership during his tenure.
