The Turkish Embassy in the UAE was opened in 1979, following the foundation
of the UAE in 1971, whereas the UAE opened its Embassy in Türkiye in 1983.
Within the context of high-level bilateral visits, Foreign Minister H.E.
Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited the UAE on 25 April 2016 and in return, Minister
of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE H.H. Sheikh
Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan paid an official visit to Türkiye on 16-17
October 2016.
The first round of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries
of the Republic Türkiye and the UAE, co-chaired by the former Undersecretary
of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ambassador Ümit Yalçın and
his Emirati counterpart H.E. Ahmed Al Jarman, took place on 9 February 2017
in Ankara.
