Following his successful contacts in Kuwait, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited Oman, the second stop of his Gulf Tour, on 9-10 February 2021 to discuss our bilateral relations and the recent international issues.
During the first day of his visit, Minister Çavuşoğlu got together with some of our citizens working in Oman, expressed that we were proud of the accomplishments of our citizens, and noted that the Oman-Turkey Friendship Association, established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman, would further strengthen our brotherly bonds.
On the second day of his visit, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi.
Following the meeting, the two Ministers held a joint press conference.
Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that we had a common vision with Oman for peace and stability in the region, that we would further increase our bilateral economic relations, and that we would advance our cooperation in defense industry.
Later that day, Minister Çavuşoğlu had a meeting with Sayyid Fahd, Deputy Prime Minister for Council of Ministers in Oman.
Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that we were pleased with the increasing interest of Turkish companies to Oman and the support they received there, that we would further advance our bilateral economic relations, and that we appreciated the peace and dialogue efforts by Oman in the region.
