Meeting of Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu with Foreign Minister Dr. Mamadou Tangara of the Gambia, 18 April 2019

On 18 April 2019 Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met with Foreign Minister Dr. Mamadou Tangara of the Gambia.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that our military training cooperation, THY direct flights to be increased to 3 times per week and Turkish companies’ investments strengthen relations between Turkey and the Gambia.

The Ministers signed the Agreement on Development Cooperation and the Protocol on Exchange of Land Plots for Diplomatic Missions.

Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that the agreement would further develop our bilateral relations.

On the same day, Minister Çavuşoğlu gathered with union representatives from 107 countries at “Future of Work -Challenges and Opportunities" event, organized on the occasion of ILO’s 100th Year by Memur-Sen, Turkey’s union with highest number of members.

Later that day, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with the President of Turkish Democratic Party of Kosova and Minister Mahir Yağcılar, representatives Müferra Şinik and Fikrim Damka.

At the meeting, bilateral relations and sitituation of kin communities were discussed.

Finally, Minister Çavuşoğlu met also with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kudret Özersay of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

At the meetingi the current situation in the Cyprus issue was evaluated.

Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that Turkey would continue with joint efforts to reach a settlement that ensures the political equality of the Turkish Cypriots and meets their security concerns.
