We welcome the initiative taken by Germany at the EU Summit convened in Cologne between 3-4 June, and the countries which supported Germany, aiming at the registering of Turkey as a candidate with the equal status granted to other candidates.

Although the Conclusions of the Summit have not yet been officially released, information so far obtained reveal that the EU’s discriminatory policy towards Turkey has not changed.

Therefore, no one should expect from Turkey to alter its approach to its relations with the EU.
