Commercial and Economic Relations between Türkiye and the Netherlands

In 2022, bilateral trade volume in goods and services stood at 12 billion 526 million USD, with Turkish exports at 8.28 billion USD and imports at 4.97 billion USD. In 2023, our bilateral trade volume was 12 billion 294 million USD (Turkish exports: 7 billion 873 million USD, our imports from the Netherlands are 4 billion 421 million USD).

Main items of Türkiye’s exports to the Netherlands are vehicles for transporting goods, cars, station wagons, race cars and textiles, whilst main items of Türkiye’s imports from the Netherlands are iron and steel, scrap, polyacetals, other polyathers, epoxide, alkyd resins, oils obtained from petroleum and bituminous minerals, tractors.

In the period of 2005-2023, the Netherlands’ direct investment to our country reached 28 billion 404 million dollars. The Netherlands maintains its title as the country with the highest investment. In the 2005-2023 period, the amount of direct investment from Türkiye to the Netherlands reached 18 billion 917 million dollars.

Despite the global pandemic, 645.601 Dutch tourists visited Türkiye in 2021. In 2022, the number of tourists reached 1.244.756. In 2023, 1.232.220 Dutch tourists visited Türkiye.
