Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mr. Ahmet Davutoglu received Ahmad al-Jarba, the President of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, Ahmad Touma, the Head of Syrian National Coalition Interim Government and Salim Idriss, the Head of Supreme Military Council on September 15, 2013 in Ankara.

Recent developments in Syria and the situation following the agreement reached between the United States and the Russian Federation regarding the elimination of chemical weapons possessed by the Syrian regime were discussed at the meeting.

Foreign Minister Davutoğlu listened to the views and expectations of the representatives of the Syrian opposition with regard to the Syria’s future prior to the foreign ministerial meeting to be held with the participations of the USA, the UK, France and Turkey on September 16.

Foreign Minister Davutoğlu, congratulating Ahmad Touma who was elected as the Head of Syrian National Coalition Interim Government, said that Turkey appreciates the efforts to further strengthen the representation of the Syrian National Coalition and that the participation of Syrian Kurds to the Coalition will constitute a positive step.
