No: 247, 6 December 2024, Regarding the Appointment of Ambassador Feridun H. Sinirlioğlu as the OSCE Secretary General

As a result of the 31st Ministerial Council Meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) held in Malta on 5-6 December 2024, Türkiye’s candidate Ambassador (R) Feridun H. Sinirlioğlu has been appointed the OSCE Secretary General.

Ambassador Sinirlioğlu’s election to this important post by the consensus of 57 members from different geographies and with various strategic interests is a reflection of the confidence the international community has in Türkiye’s respectability, foreign policy and pursue of active diplomacy for the solution of crises.

We are confident that Ambassador Sinirlioğlu will carry out his duties in the most successful manner and support OSCE in fulfilling its responsibilities in a more effective way.

Türkiye will continue to contribute to the establishment of stability and peace in the OSCE region where there are conflicts and ongoing disputes to contend with.
