The Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Lene Espersen will pay a working visit to Turkey on 2-4 May 2011.
During their meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Davutoğlu and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Espersen will discuss Turkish-Danish bilateral relations, Turkey’s EU membership negotiations, Cyprus, the fight against international terrorism, and current regional and international issues.
Foreign Minister H.E. Espersen is expected to meet State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Ali Babacan.
Before Foreign Minister H.E. Espersen’s meetings in Ankara, she is scheduled to attend a breakfast meeting in Istanbul on May 3 with the representatives of the Turkish-Danish Business Community, co-hosted by DEIK and the Embassy of Denmark. Together with the Minister of Finance H.E. Mehmet Şimşek, Minister Espersen will participate in an economic roundtable organized by TÜSIAD entitled “Turkey and Denmark: Partners for Growth and Sustainability”.
It is believed that this visit will be yet another occasion to provide impetus to the relations in every field between Turkey and Denmark, two NATO allies who share the same values such as democracy and respect to human rights as well as the rule of law.
