Diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Tuvalu were established on 19 July 1979.

Since 1992, the Turkish Embassy in Wellington has been accredited to Tuvalu.

Türkiye’s development assistance for the Pacific Island States has gained momentum in recent years. In this context, Türkiye contributed to the project on the construction of two new “Kaupule” Service Buildings in Vaitupu and Nanumea Islands and carried out a project to improve Tuvalu’s Court Case Management System in 2022.
