We express our deep sorrow and regret about the terrorist attack on Delhi-Lahore Samjhauta Express at the night of 18 February 2007 which claimed, according to initial figures, 64 lives and left many wounded.

Turkey is against all kinds of terrorist acts irrespective of the identity of the perpetrator or the motive behind it. With this understanding, Turkey also condemns this attack with the strongest terms and reiterates its call once again to increase international cooperation on fight against terrorism.

Turkey shares the suffering of the people of India and Pakistan emanating from this heinous attack. We express our condolences to the families of the deceased, and to the Governments and peoples of India and Pakistan. We also wish speedy recovery to those wounded.
