The food and hygiene materials for 3,000 families provided by the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) arrived in Tilkeyf on June 24th and are still being distributed. On the other hand, humanitarian aid shipments including 3,000 blankets, 44,800 biscuits and 16,128 bottles of 1.5 liters of water supplied by the Turkish Red Crescent to be conveyed to the displaced people in the Sinjar region were sent to Iraq on 25 June, in coordination with the Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Agency. The humanitarian aid supplies in question are planned to arrive in Sinjar this evening (June 26th).

Our humanitarian aid activities which are conducted under the coordination of the Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) and our Consulate General in Erbil, and which include the Turkish Red Crescent and TIKA, will continue. AFAD, the Turkish Red Crescent and TIKA teams assigned in the region for the purpose of coordinating the distribution of humanitarian aid on site have been compiling the humanitarian aid requests and ensuring that the aid is distributed to those in need in accordance with these requests.

Necessary efforts to ensure the return of all of the Turkish citizens kept in Iraq, safe and sound and as soon as possible, are being conducted in a sensitive manner. The Turkish Embassy in Baghdad is continuing to conduct the efforts for ensuring the safe return to Turkey of our citizens in Iraq. In this framework, our relevant units have been rapidly answering the demands of information and support submitted to the Crisis Center based on the currently available information and in spite of the extraordinary circumstances ongoing in Iraq.
