The newly established National Unity Government in Palestine is considered as a new hope in the context of peace efforts and expectations of the Palestinian people.

An enormous task awaits the new Palestinian Government in terms of alleviating the plight of the Palestinian people, securing internal peace and re-activating Palestinian institutions.

It would be essential for the new Government to garner full support of the international community in order to efficiently fulfil this task and to meet the expectations of the Palestinian people. In so doing, the new Government would also help re-establish a climate of dialogue between Palestine and Israel.

The establishment of National Unity Government has opened a window of opportunity for the restoration of public order in Palestine and for the revival of the Peace Process, which has remained deadlocked for years. All sides should act with commonsense and a sense of responsibility in order to seize this opportunity

Within this respect, the international community is also expected to adopt an unbiased and encouraging approach towards the new Palestinian Government.
