Prime Minister Bülent Ecevit is going to pay an official visit to Norway on June 4-6 , 2000 upon the invitation of Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg.

The Prime Minister will be received by King Harald V of Norway and meet with Norwegian Prime Minister Stoltenberg, Speaker of Norwegian Parliament Kristi Kolle Gröndhal and members of Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission. Prime Minister Ecevit will also deliver a speech at the Nobel Institute on "Turkey at the Dawn of the 21st Century".

At the talks, in addition to bilateral relations, international and regional issues of of common concern as well as cooperation opportunities in economic, commercial and energy fields including hydroelectric in particular will be taken up.

Foreign Minister İsmail Cem will be accompanying the Prime Minister during the visit and the Minister is expected to have talks with Norwegian Foreign Minister Thorbjörn Jagland
