The Visit by NATO Secretary General to Turkey (Unofficial Translation) No:30 - March 7, 2000

NATO Secretary General ,George Robertson will pay an offical visit to Turkey on 9-10 March 2000.

During his visit, the Secretary General will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs İsmail Cem, the Minister of Defence Sabahattin Çakmakoğlu and will be received by the Prime Minister Bülent Ecevit. The Secretary General Robertson will attend the opening of the International Security and Cooperation Conference in Antalya on 10 March 2000 and will be received by President Süleyman Demirel there. The Secretary General of NATO will depart from Turkey on the same day.

At the meetings with the Secretary General, issues concerning European Security and Defence Identity as well as the Alliance will be taken up.
